MELODIFESTIVALEN 2022. Until September 17, 2021, at 11:59 AM, it is possible to submitting songs to the Swedish Eurovision 2022 selection Melodifestivalen! We tell you everything you need to know about the submitting process.

How it works
Step 1: Go to the digital platform
To start submitting any song(s) to Melodifestivalen 2022, please go to SVT’s external platform.
Step 2: Create an account on the platform
The first thing you must do is creating an user account on the platform. You only need to create one (1) account from where you can upload the song(s) and give Swedish Television (here referred to as SVT) all the information they need from you regarding each song and the songwriter(s).
Step 3: Read the contest’s rules
Before you start to submitting any songs from your account, please read the competition rules which includes information regarding the requirements SVT has for the songs as well for the songwriter(s), i.e., the lyricists and/or composer(s). We also recommend you to carefully read the C-section, or Other terms and conditions (as it is called in the rules), which includes information about copyright and other conditions.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION. SVT has the rights to block every uploaded song from being official released until (earliest) November 25, 2021. This rule applies REGARDLESS OF if the song is selected to the contest or not. The release date will then be decided whether the song will compete or not in 2022.
If the song is SELECTED to compete in Melodifestivalen 2022: – You must wait to a later date for the song release, a date which will be decided by SVT.
If the song is NOT SELECTED to compete in Melodifestivalen 2022: – You free to release the song after (earliest) November 25, 2021. However, if you want to take the chance to wait one year or send it to another country’s Eurovision national selection, then it is best to not release the song yet. |
Is there a deadline for the song submission?
Yes, there is. The submission will be open for three weeks (from August 27, 2021), and the final deadline is set for September 17 at 11:59 AM, Central European Summer Time.
Since it can take some minutes to complete the submitting process, do not wait until the last minute to submit the song(s).
